What I've been up to

❄️Brrr! As I'm writing this, the first snow of the season is falling, and it's not just the melt-upon-contact-with-ground type. It's actually enough to coat everything in a thin blanket of white, and I had to fight to keep fat snowflakes from blowing into my eyes on Lily's morning walk. (Dad successfully caught a few on his tongue.) We don't often get that kind of snow before Christmas, so it's a unusually strong proof that the holiday season is here.

🦃 Speaking of which, here's a belated happy Thanksgiving, for those of you in the US! (Or who celebrate it elsewhere!)

🎧Audio update

I have good news! I finished recording book six last week. 🥳 It was a major push to get the recording part done before December, but I did it! (I even had to record one segment on Thanksgiving Day.)

I was hoping to finish proofing and retakes this week, but I only completed the former and got 23% through the later. I might be paying for the exertion of the last few weeks with a bit of burnout, or my body could simply be telling me it's time to chill, and gave me headaches and overwhelming exhaustion when I kept trying to push through.

Sooo, I've been taking it easier than I'd hoped at the end of this week, but I still hope to finish the retakes early next week and start on the editing and mastering phase. I'm still on track for finishing my part by the end of the year, but my beta listeners might need more time to finish theirs. Don't worry, though. I can start writing while they listen (as long as my body allows it 😅).

🗺️And now for the thing!

And guess what else I somehow managed to finish for you guys through the headache and exhaustion fog of yesterday: the promised completed map!

Map of the Moontouched Hold, with labeled rooms: gate, garden, library, etc. Dark gray background with compass rose in bottom right.

This is the black and white one I'm planning on inserting into the first book's frontmatter. Click on the image or this link to go to the website to see the color one. That's also the one you can enlarge and zoom in on.

Note that this is the version as discovered in the first book, Dragon's Blood, to avoid spoilers for people who haven't read the others. This should still be enough to give you an idea of where everything else would go.
