What I've been up to

Lots going on right now!

I've started working on the "zero" draft of book 2 of the new series, and I'm a couple of chapters in.

Because, as my subscribers know, beta reading on book 1 has officially begun! And a month early, too. (Please don't always expect that kind of speed. 😅 That's just the way it worked out.) Thank you to all those who have already applied, and some of you are already off and away!

I personally review every application, so thank you as well for all your kind notes there. 💛 They've kept me going.

I can see that you are reading and leaving feedback, but I can't let myself look at that yet. I've learned from hard experience that I need to wait to review feedback until I'm ready to emotionally process and act on it, and now is not that time for book 1. I need to let you guys do your thing while I continue drafting book 2.

🎧Audio update: Book 6 is now available!

Next, I'm happy to announce that my self-narrated audio for the Blood of the Covenants Series, Book 6 (Dragon's Child) is now off with the distributor and available from several retailers! As is the audio bundle of books 4–6.

Not many retailers have book 6 or the 4-6 bundle yet, though, so I'll hold off sharing links, and hopefully in the future I'll have a sale or two to tell you about.

But I'm still celebrating the full closure of that chapter of my life...for now. I'll revisit the series at some point, because I have a few ideas for novellas at the least, but for now, that's an official wrap!

Teasers, Round 3!

I guess these aren't even teasers for some of you fast alpha and beta readers. 😂 But I'm still going to call them that for the sake of everyone else.

Vibe Teaser 3

Just breathe and take it all in. It'll all be OK.

The vibe for this one is spot on. And it's pretty accurate. I just picture more driftwood, a wider beach, and a lake instead of a river.

Character Teaser 3

I should have clarified from the start that I am revealing these four characters in reverse order of importance.

In other words, the first character, Bluebell, was the least important, and the last one, who I'll reveal next time, is the main character. Sorry for the confusion! 😅

So here's the second-to-last but second-most-important character!

As my dad said, this is "Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome."

I give this portrait an 8/10. This is the one I have had the darndest time getting right, and I have shown my alpha readers many versions along the way to get their opinions. I keep no fewer than seven versions in my writing software for me to flip through to find the aspect I like best for the moment I'm writing it.

This one is just the best one overall that I've gotten from Midjourney so far. To be fair to Midjourney, I'm not sure there's any way to fully capture the complexity of what I have in my head. 😅

So, for those of you who have read about him and pictured something else...I don't blame you! Picture him, and any of them, however you want.
